'Pilgrim Places of Dorset' Lecture with Nick Mayhew-Smith
Nick Mayhew-Smith, author and researcher, will be exploring the sacred heritage of Dorset. His illustrated talk will guide us through the county’s many Pilgrim Places, from ancient churches and holy wells to earthworks and sacred trees, highlighting how these landscapes inspire reflection and connection for modern pilgrims that resonate with wider narratives across the Britain.
Currently Head of Whitelands College at Roehampton University, Nick has written extensively on spirituality, heritage, and the environment. His acclaimed works include Britain’s Holiest Places (adapted into a six-part BBC series), The Naked Hermit, Britain’s Pilgrim Places, and Landscape Liturgies.
We will also be launching a new interactive map of the St Edward's Way pilgrimage from Wareham to Shaftesbury Abbey.
Tickets are £15 for Adults, £12 for Friends of Shaftesbury Abbey & Students
