River Medway Pilgrimage
Southeast England & London

The River Medway Pilgrimage route takes you from the river source to the estuary
This route moves through landscapes, communities, and shared experiences that reveal the river's ecological, cultural, and spiritual significance. The route is an offering of attention, care, and presence to the river and the places she flows through.
Along the way, the route's creators (Friends of the River Medway) hope you will deepen your connection with the Medway, support practical action for river health, contribute to the advancement of the Rights of the River Medway, and strengthen a culture of river guardianship across the catchment.
For more information, go to Friends of the River Medway a group dedicated to the conservation and care of the River Medway.

Discover holy places, and bring your own beliefs.
Pilgrimage by foot is connected with places and landscape, and how those places make you feel. Read about holy places.
At the British Pilgrimage Trust, we believe a pilgrimage should be made on an individual’s own terms. We are founded on the principle that we can all bring our own beliefs to the journey, accessible and welcoming to all.
